CAN Fund, is a non-profit organization that was created in a hospital room by Founder Jane Roos after her second back operation which was sustained during a fatal car accident that took the life of her best friend. Jane’s career as a promising heptathlete was also cut short and through immense tragedy she found her purpose - to give people an opportunity to achieve their dreams. Now 20 years later, it is quite remarkable that behind the majority of Canadian athletes spanning 10 Olympic and 10 Paralympic Games you will find CAN Fund.

Today 3 of 5 athletes applying to CAN Fund are in debt and rely heavily on this essential funding to continue to train and compete. Resources matter, opportunities matter and CAN Fund backing allows athletes to better afford what matters most.   From upgraded equipment, travel to training camps and competitions, coaching, extra physio, team fees, proper nutrition and basic living expenses. A record 998 athletes from over 60 summer, winter and Paralympic sports recently applied to CAN Fund and each approved athlete receives $8000 twice a year to help make their dream of becoming an Olympian achievable.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to be part of the magic of CAN Fund and a difference maker to our athletes on their journey to Paris 2024 and beyond!
